James M Birchfield (Jim)

This is Anne's Dad Jim Birchfield. She was the apple of her daddy's eye. He was the father of 8 children. He was a coal miner and a logger. He was also part of the Matewan Wars. This was a struggle of the miners against the coal companies to gain more saftey regulations and better wages for all miners everywhere. There is a movie made about these struggles called the Matewan Wars. Ethel told many times that this was a dangerous time and that she feared for his saftey alot in those days.

Bo Bo

This is Anne's momma. Ethel known to many as Bo Bo. This name stuck when Bert's first child Jim could not say Maw Maw and it came out Bo Bo and since then all the kids called her that as well as many of the people who knew and loved her. The kids even wrote letters addressed to Bo Bo Birchfield and she got them as the post office knew her by that name too.

Grandpa Grant

This is Ethel's Daddy. William T. Grant. He is the father of seven children. Bert, Carl, Moon, Ethel, Margaret, Pearl, and Bonnie. He is pictured here with one of his grandchildren Janice. He was a very stern but loving man. One favorite story Ethel told of him was a time when they were eating and they were not allowed to laugh at the table. Well he would eat peas with his knife and he was trying to get them to his mouth and they kept falling off. Finally the kids could not stand it no more and burst into laughter as he did as well. She said he had steel gray eyes that could pierce your heart when he wanted them to.

This is Anne's niece Melissa Anne and her family. She is the daughter of Anne's baby brother Danny. She is a wonderful young woman and her boys are great too! They live outside Nashville.

Here Anne is with Missey's boys and Tyman. They were in Tennessee attending Corey's graduation. Missey brought the boys by to visit with her.

Melissa Anne

Here she is Danny's daughter! Isn't she a pretty little thing???? She has not changed much since she was a baby except to get taller is all. We sure are proud of her and we know her mom and dad are too. She has always been a bright bubbly child and a very inquisitive one also. She was Ben's baby for some time she and Pebs both. Belinda often claimed them as her own.

Penelope aka Pebbles Lucille

This is another of Danny's daughters Pebbles. Peb's for short we call her. She is the mother of two. She is a long legged beauty and a very happy girl. Her personality is as bright as that natural blonde hair.

Pebs Angel

This is Bella. Pebble's Daughter. Isn't she a doll baby? Has her mommy's smile.
